Can’t believe it’s been another whole year, but Game of Thrones is back! HBO’s adaptation of George RR Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire, with its feuding houses, Stark siblings, a Khaleesi and her dragons, has finally returned. And so have my Monday morning recaps. Like last time (since George hasn’t gotten the The Winds of Winter out yet) I’m completely in the dark. We’re all non-readers now. So then, “Shall we begin?”
As usual the night is dark and full of SPOILERS.
A few words on inspiration, plot and world building in my short story “The Angel of Khan el-Khalili.” A little bit Steampunk. A little bit Cairo. And Angels that grant miracles–of a sort.

With the buzz last month that the late Robert Jordan’s The Wheel of Time is moving forward at Sony Pictures, could we be looking at the most diverse fantasy story (so far) to make its way into popular media?
Maybe. Or maybe not.
As the dice tumble and wheel turns, let’s discuss right quick.

The television adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s American Gods has finally arrived. Shadow. Wednesday. Bilquis. Mad Sweeney. The gang’s all here. And a storm’s coming.
Some thoughts and comments.
